The First Statement

I figured why not launch my blog on the first day of my 44th year. 44 is significant – it was my dad’s number (sports), is a happy number (mathematics), is excellent for business (numerology) and is lucky (Chinese).

It also has taken me all of 44 years to hone in on my personal style. My Style Statement (how I look and feel) is one of the tools I use to crush my personal and professional goals. When I know I am rocking an outfit that communicates my intentions, my confidence is boosted and I feel more like myself. And isn’t that what we all want?

Next month I will launch Banks Statement, a company providing Image Consulting and Wardrobe Styling services. This isn’t superficial stuff – your Style Statement is the first thing people see and make judgments about.

Just think what you could accomplish if you had clear goals – if you knew what colors and shapes looked best on you – if your closet was a retreat of coordinating pieces – if your clothes reinforced what you were trying to communicate.

This is possible and doesn’t have to invoke anxiety or require a bank loan. If your Style Statement is authentic, it will portray the best you and the world will respond accordingly.

And the world needs more you's, not Giselle’s, Beyoncé’s or J-Law’s (Lawrence, not Jude, because we all could use more of that!). Stay tuned and start thinking about creating your own Statement.
